Packet Models Revisited: Tandem and Priority Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
We examine two extensions of traditional single-node packet-scale queueing models: tandem networks and (strict) priority systems. Two generic input processes are considered: periodic and Poisson arrivals. For the two-node tandem, an exact expression is derived for the joint distribution of the total queue length, and the queue length of the first queue, implicitly determining the distribution of the second queue. Similarly we derive the distribution of the lowpriority queue in a two-class priority system. We also provide explicit approximations based on the Brownian bridge. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 60K25

A class of discrete time priority queueing systems with partial interference is considered. Packet-radio communication networks that use a certain mode of operation fall into this class. In these systems N nodes share a common channel to transmit their packets. One node uses random access scheme while the other nodes use the channel according to prescribed priorities. Packet arrivals are modele...
متن کاملA simple analysis of average queueing delay in tree networks
We develop an approach to the analysis of average queueing delay in a tree network of discrete-time queues with constant senice time. The analysis of such systems is pertinent to packet-switehed data networks with fixed-length packets. Our solution is based on considering an equivalent network, in which at each node packets in transit are given priority over exogenous arrivals. The solution to ...
متن کاملA Packet Switch with a Priority Scheduling Discipline: Performance Analysis
In this paper, we analyze a discrete-time GI-G1, Geo2-1 preemptive resume priority queue. We consider two classes of packets which have to be served, where one class has preemptive resume priority over the other. The high-priority class contains packets with generally distributed service times while the low-priority packets are assumed to have geometrically distributed service times. We show th...
متن کاملDesigninga Neuro-Sliding Mode Controller for Networked Control Systems with Packet Dropout
This paper addresses control design in networked control system by considering stochastic packet dropouts in the forward path of the control loop. The packet dropouts are modelled by mutually independent stochastic variables satisfying Bernoulli binary distribution. A sliding mode controller is utilized to overcome the adverse influences of stochastic packet dropouts in networked control system...

In this paper we study necessary and sufficient conditions for some types of linear combinations of wave packet frames to be a frame for L2(Rd). Further, we illustrate our results with some examples and applications.
